Liu Zhaoxia is an associate professor of the Sports Department of Beijing Union University. She was a professional athlete in the Martial Arts Team of Hebei province and won several prizes in fencing at provincial and national competitions.

Then she studied in the Beijing Sport University and obtained her bachelor and master’s degree in the Ethnic Traditional Sports Program. Since 2000 to date, Prof. Liu has had many successes associated with martial arts sports events. She was appointed chief referee in the national competition for martial arts, taiji sword, and taiji. Also, she was an instructor on etiquette for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
