
Zhao Zhangyang
PhD Student
Zhao Zhangyang, PhD student, and practitioner of Chinese Medicine at Jiangxi University of Chinese medicine. Her major is in basic theory of Chinese medicine, and her research area is in Qi theory in Chinese medicine.
Her supervisor is Professor Zhang Wenchun, Dean of School of Chinese Medicine, School of Life Sciences, and Director of the Institute of Scientific Research into Qigong at Jiangxi University of Chinese Medicine.
From December 2019 to June 2020 she was an exchange student at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD), promoting academic cooperation and exchange and setting up the Research Center for Chinese Medicine Qigong at UWTSD’s Swansea campus.
She oversaw and carried out a series of Chinese Medical Qigong courses, workshops and talks, and held dozens of popular teaching activities on the scientific aspects of Chinese Medicine Qigong.
She was a key member of the joint international research project organized by the UWTSD Confucius Institute on the effect of medical qigong on people who were self-isolating during the pandemic. At the same time, she ran a free online clinic for the Chinese community in the UK, using Qigong therapy to help relieve a variety of conditions.
